Amazing Race Episode 6 Recap

Nick & Starr departed Cambodia first, heading for Delhi, India, with Toni & Dallas leaving second.  Terence and Sarah would have left in third, but because of the 30-minute penalty they incurred in the last leg, they wound up leaving the Pit Stop in 5th place.

 

Everyone was on the same flight to Delhi.  Once the teams arrived in India, they were faced with a Road Block.  In this Road Block, one member of each team had to help Delhi’s taxi industry go green by painting a rickshaw taxi green.

 

Because the taxis were two-toned, a lot of masking and taping had to be done before painting could begin.  Some teams had no problems with this; Tina kept nagging Ken, Terence kept nagging Sarah.  If I were Sarah, I would have probably clobbered Terence by now.  Anyway, Andrew and Dan finished the Road Block first, and headed to the Ambassador Hotel where they had to search for an Indian doorman, who gave them their next clue.

 

This clue was for a Detour.  Teams could Launder Money or Launder Clothes.   In Launder Money, teams had to create a wedding necklace out of Indian Rupee, using the exact denominations of Rupee as in the sample.  Teams would probably have to get change in order to complete this task.  Once the necklace was made, they had to find an Indian groom and present him with the finished piece.

 

In Launder Clothes, teams had to press and fold 20 pieces of clothing with a charcoal iron, to the satisfaction of a laundress.  Nick & Starr, Toni & Dallas, Andrew & Dan and Kelly & Christy chose Launder Clothes; Ken & Tina and Terence & Sarah chose Launder Money.

 

Nick & Starr had gloves with them, which helped with the irons.  Kelly & Christy were having trouble handling the heavy irons.  Andrew & Dan were frustrated, saying that fraternity boys don’t iron.    They had to redo clothes, and their pile of satisfactory laundry was blown over by the wind.

 

Terence & Sarah quickly got change and created their necklace.  Ken & Tina had a little bit more difficulty in getting change from their taxi driver.  Both teams had difficulty finding the bridegrooms in the crowd.

 

After completing the Detour, teams were instructed to go to Bahai House, the next Pit Stop.  Nick & Starr arrived first, each winning an electric car.  As predicted, this leg was a non-elimination leg, saving Ken & Tina, who arrived last.  Because they arrived last, they will have to perform a Speed Bump sometime during the next leg.  A Speed Bump is a task that only they have to complete.  They have to finish the Speed Bump before they can continue on in the leg.  They don’t know when the Speed Bump will occur during the leg.
