The four remaining teams flew from Kazakhstan to Moscow, where they were to travel to a monastery and light a candle to receive their next clue.

All four teams were able to get on the same flight to Moscow.  Because Andrew & Dan had left their shoes at the children’s theater in the last leg, they were left wearing slippers that they’d gotten at the hotel.  They were able to buy shoes at the airport, but they used up most of their money to do so.  During the wait at the airport, the romance between Dallas and Starr heated up, under the watchful eyes of Nick and Toni.

Once the teams arrived in Moscow, the language barrier proved to be quite a hindrance for several teams.  The taxi drivers for Andrew & Dan and Ken & Tina stopped to ask for directions to the monastery.

At the monastery, the women had to don head scarves in order to enter.  After lighting candles, teams received their next clue, which they read once back on the street.  This clue sent them to Kolosak Camp, a military camp.

On the way to Kolosak, the taxi carrying Nick & Starr got lost and Starr was getting very frustrated.  At the military camp, the clue was for a Detour ~ Boots or Borscht.   In Boots, teams were to join a training squad, learn a parade march, and then march with the squad one lap around the training field.  In Borscht, teams were to serve Borscht to 75 soldiers.  For both Detours, teams had to dress in proper military attire, including wrapping their feet in a specified way.

Toni & Dallas arrived at the Detour first.  After donning the military attire, they chose Boots.  They were followed by Tina & Ken, who chose the same route.  Both teams successfully finished the Detour and received their clue, directing them to a bakery.

Andrew & Dan also chose Boots, but had trouble learning the proper feet-wrapping techniques.  They decided to change Detours and moved to the Borscht area, after removing their uniforms.  After donning aprons and chef’s hats, Andrew reread the clue, seeing that they needed to wear the uniforms for both Detours.  Once they noticed that, and returned to don the uniforms again, they opted to try Boots.

In the meantime, Nick & Starr had arrived, chosen Boots and completed the Detour.

Watching Dan try to master the march was like watching the Lollipop Guild in the Wizard of Oz.  I was laughing so hard.  He has no coordination at all.  Finally, the boys gave up on Boots, went for Borscht, and successfully completed the Detour.

The next clue sent teams to a bakery for the Road Block.  At this Road Block, one team member had to carry 50 50-pound sacks of flour from a delivery truck into the bakery and stack them properly for their next clue.  The Road Block was completed by Dallas, Ken, Nick and Dan.

After completing the Road Block, their next clue sent teams to the Pit Stop at a Moscow park.  Language was still a barrier for most of the teams, and it took a long time for the taxis to travel along the crowded streets.

One by one, the teams arrived at the mat to be checked in by Phil.  Toni & Dallas were first, for the first time, and won a trip for two to the Dominican Republic.  Nick & Starr were third, which I think was the first time they didn’t finish in the top two.  Andrew & Dan didn’t have enough taxi fare and had to bargain with their driver before they were able to leave to go to the mat.

When they finally checked in, Phil told them they were last.  As I predicted, this was a non-elimination leg, so they were spared yet again.  They will have to face a Speed Bump in the next leg however.

Dandrew are so bad! It was hilarious watching Dan try and march, what was he doing? They got lucky again though, I don’t see any way they sniff the top 2 though.
